Weekly Report #12: Eating healthily is better than just eating well, and sharing kindness with others.

A week of binge-watching and indulging in food and drinks, optimizing the memos page and movie page of the blog.

In Life:

  1. Finished watching The Lotus Tower in four days. Most dramas are about the protagonist starting from a nobody and becoming a great hero, but this drama goes against the norm. The protagonist is already at the peak of his power when he is young, but a battle with the leader of the martial arts world makes everyone think he died in the duel, and he disappears for ten years. Ten years later, he becomes a wandering doctor, giving up his dream of upholding justice in the martial arts world and losing his former glory. The ending is that he dies, which is quite poignant. He never wanted to live, he only lived to find his senior brother's body and bury him next to their master. However, he never expected that the person he cared about the most would be the one who hated him the most. One strange case after another exposes the conspiracy from ten years ago. In the ending, he writes a letter with the opening line "The little boat has passed, the rivers and seas are left to the rest of my life." This line of poetry is from Su Shi's "Fairy by the River". It is said that when Su Shi wrote this poem, his friends also thought he had passed away. So it is possible that Li Lianhua did not die either, he just didn't want to reveal his identity in front of his loved ones and friends. During the ten years, he spared everyone, except for Li Xiangyi. For the audience, this is a heartbreaking ending, but it is Li Lianhua's choice.
  2. Sleep quality was poor this week. There were two days when I only slept for two hours. One day I had to send my sister to school, so I woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning. One day I met a friend I hadn't seen in six years. They wanted to see the flag-raising ceremony, so after having supper, I took them to Tiananmen Square and went home to catch up on sleep. My sleep schedule was disrupted again, but fortunately, I didn't feel too uncomfortable physically, but this schedule needs to be adjusted urgently.
  3. The main store of Hu Da is much better than the branch. Not only the service, but also the environment and taste are superior. I used to go to the branch to eat, but I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the main store for the first time. The garlic-flavored crayfish is really amazing.
  4. I've been eating too well recently, which has caused me to lose my appetite for the past two days. I want to eat something light to soothe my stomach. I can feel that my metabolism has slowed down as I get older, and I need to supplement dietary fiber to feel more comfortable.
  5. I'm planning to give up the semi-automatic pet-raising life and return to being a manual litter scooper. Since Youpei closed down, the machine has been having one problem after another. After searching for a while, I decided not to use the automatic litter box anymore. One reason is safety, and the other is that the automatic litter box takes up a lot of space even though the space inside is somewhat cramped. However, I have to mention that Youpei's litter box is quite large, and it has indeed brought me a lot of convenience in the past two years. I don't have to scoop the litter every day, and I don't have to worry if I'm away for three or four days. At the same time, the amount of litter used in the automatic litter box has significantly decreased. But overall, smart devices ultimately serve people, not pets.

In Learning:

  1. Finally finished working on the memos page of the blog this week. Initially, I wanted to use Tencent Cloud's server, but after adding a reverse proxy, the webpage couldn't be accessed and prompted for filing. I had already decided to file, but it turned out to be troublesome. My domain name is registered with Cloudflare, and Tencent Cloud does not support filing for overseas domain names, so I gave up. Later, I decided to run it locally with Docker. Luckily, I have a public network, so I mapped it to a port on the public network to allow external access. However, I got stuck several times in the reverse proxy part. The reverse proxy cannot add SSL, and using Cloudflare as a proxy will cause the webpage to not open directly. In the end, I chose Azure. Although it is not very easy to operate compared to Tencent Cloud's server, it is not as simple and user-friendly. Fortunately, I solved it with the help of ChatGPT and Claude, and it is now up and running successfully. However, I am currently using the free student quota, so it will be a problem if I need to renew it in the future. After setting it up, I can get rid of the oipd page on xlog.
  2. Made adjustments to the movie page of the blog. Previously, I used GitHub Actions to automatically parse Douban data, export CSV files, and download movie cover images to the local machine. But later I felt it was too cumbersome to always download to the local machine, which made the files bloated. So with the help of my AI buddy, I added a process to upload to Tencent Cloud in the action. Although Tencent Cloud's server has a series of restrictions, fortunately Tencent Cloud Object Storage does not, so I will use it for now.
  3. Read a book this week called Code: The Hidden Language Behind Computer Hardware and Software. At first, I thought it was about abstract computer terms and the workflow of computers, but it turns out it explains the principles of various encodings in a more concise and understandable language, making it easier to understand the language of computers. For example, decimal is used because humans have ten fingers, which is easier to remember. I haven't finished reading this book yet, but it's worth a read.
  4. The bedtime reading is The Art of Breathing. I started reading it after seeing it recommended by Cai Tou Shu in Ghost Drawing. But I don't really read it, I listen to it while falling asleep. It helps me relax gradually. For me, it has a stronger purpose. Currently, I still don't have a compassionate heart.

Next Week's Plan:

  1. Add a reading page to the blog.
  2. Finish reading two books.
  3. Adjust my daily routine.
  4. Increase physical activity.

Summary:
Nothing much, just learn and be done with it.
