Weekly Report #09 Strong Yang Turns Weak Yang

After enduring a week, I finally made it through the most difficult moments of COVID-19. It was so painful, I really don't want to experience it again.

  1. On Monday, the fever subsided a bit, so I went to the hospital. The doctor treated it as a common cold and prescribed some medicine. It tasted really bad, to the point where I felt nauseous after just three sips and vomited after three and a half sips. I drank it for two days but it didn't have any effect, which was really frustrating. When I woke up in the morning, my heart felt uncomfortable. I thought it was because I slept in a weird position and didn't pay much attention to it. But the discomfort persisted until the evening. My left hand would hurt when I exerted force or used it.
  2. On Tuesday, the chest pain didn't ease, so I went to another hospital to have my heart checked. The doctor was concerned that it could be a heart attack or myocarditis, but luckily the test results showed that my cardiac enzymes were fine. However, there was an issue with the electrocardiogram, showing ST-T changes, indicating insufficient blood supply to the heart. Since I still tested positive for COVID-19, it could be caused by the virus. I need to take it easy and rest. My parents also came to Beijing to take care of me.
  3. Fortunately, with my parents' care, I didn't have to worry too much about meals these days. But after testing positive, my sense of taste became heightened. I became more sensitive to the salty taste of food, to the point where I find some dishes with normal taste too salty to swallow. We hardly add salt when cooking at home. I don't know when exactly I lost my sense of smell, but even now I still can't smell anything, whether it's the scent of essential oils or the smell of cat litter.
  4. After testing positive, I've been feeling dazed and lethargic every day. I can't muster any energy and just want to sleep all the time. On average, I sleep for 10 hours a day, but even so, I still feel listless. The doctor said I need to take it easy and rest, so I'll just have to take it slow and recover gradually.

Summary:
COVID-19, please go away soon. I really can't bear it anymore.
